On Saturday 5th May 2019, Ian Rowland married the love of his life Miss Rachel Wilson at the stunning and panoramic setting of St. Annes Church in Lydgate. The beautiful service was officiated by Reverend Phillip Williamson, which was followed by a lavish reception at the Crow Hill wedding venue in Marsden.

The early Summer wedding party included Rachel’s parents Anne and Chris Wilson, as well as Ian’s mother Loraine Mackenzie-Williams and partner, and Ian’s father Paul Rowland and partner.

The honour of best man fell to Sean McCabe, who both did a great job, as well as ushers, Craig Rollason, Ben Bainbridge, Nick Wilson and Tom Graham. The role of chief bridesmaid was given to Caroline Mackinnon, whilst Alison Ross, Laura Blainey, Gemma Wood, Danielle Manning, Clare Guest and Jess Maltby were simply magnificent bridesmaids throughout the day, as were page boy Ethan Taylor and flower girl Erin Taylor.Joanne-Jacobs-Photography-4

The Bride wore a stunning floral design Maggie Sottero gown by Blush Bridal Boutique in Uppermill, whilst the bridesmaids looked lovely in baby blue camisole overlay dresses with crotchet cami bodice overlay, square necklines and thin straps by Cho Chi London. Erin, almost stole the show in an ivory bead embellished lace dress from Debenhams. The Groom looked dapper in a navy Next suit, as well as a light grey, double breasted bespoke Richard Smith waistcoat, Marks & Spencer tie and stylish, tattooed Goodwin Smith shoes. By his side the Groomsmen wore light grey three piece suits with navy ties and brown shoes.

The couple’s wonderful 4 tier wedding cake was created by John Francis and included a fire engine coming out of the rear of the cake. It was certainly a show stopper. During the moving service, the couple exchanged beautiful rings by King of Diamonds of Hatton Garden, London. The whole day was captured perfectly by talented photographer Joanne Jacobs Photography and videographer Danny. The flowers were expertly created by Roxanne at Lily Blossom in Marsden and consisted of crisp white and green calla lilies, as well as white roses with long stems. The Rolls Royce Phantom Wedding Car was supplied by People to Places.Joanne-Jacobs

Other special mentions must go to Diggle Band who played perfectly during the arrival drinks at the wedding reception.

Following their big day, the couple honeymooned at the Keemala & Millenium Hilton Resorts in Thailand, the Olhuveli Resort in the Maldives and finally The Palace in Dubai. What a way to celebrate the best day of your life!

The whole team at the Around Saddleworth & Tameside Magazine would like to take this opportunity in wishing Rachel and Ian a long and happy life together.
