Oldham Theatre Workshop presents Hansel and Gretel live@thelibrary After the huge success of last year’s ‘Peter Pan’, Oldham Theatre Workshop’s Professional Company are back with one of the world’s best loved fairy tales. (ages 4+) This Christmas family production will be told through inventive storytelling, original song and music. SARAH NELSON & JAMES ATHERTON Sarah and James trained together at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where their fifirst collaboration was featured at the National Student Drama Festival. Since then, they have written numerous shows together. Sarah’s recent credits include The Lost Story (M6 Theatre) and Letter To Boddah (Hope Mill Theatre). James’ recent credits include Astley’s Astounding Adventures and Around The World in Eighty Days (New Vic Theatre).They collaborated on ‘Tis Written in the Stars (OTW, Oldham Coliseum), which was nominated for the MTA @MTAwards Youth Panel Award, and this year produced the joyous and moving musical The Visitor’s Book (Hope Mill Theatre). Saddleworth Round Table are delighted the museum. They will offer an On your marks!! Count down to ththis years annual santa dash begins to announce that the 4th Santa Dash is to take place on Saturday 1st December. The race starts at 2.30 pm near Uppermill Square and tickets for all willing Santa’s can be found via the Facebook page /SaddleworthRT. There will be two routes available, a 5 km course and also a family (buggy) friendly 2 km course.You are also advised to turn up in plenty of time to enjoy the pre-race warm up from 1.30 pm. Revolution Radio who support the event will be in attendance with Elliot Eastwick from the station’s breakfast show.There’ll be a lots of other festive acts on stage to keep all the family entertained throughout the afternoon including a Christmas market open from 12 noon till 6 pm. Following the huge success of the markets last year the Round Table are looking to expand the number of market stalls in both the square and at excellent range of delicious food and drink as well as a variety of Christmas and festive gifts.At 4 pm the Santa parade and lights switch on will commence with FatherChristmas being drawn by Saddleworth Morris Men down the High Street to the museum.
