On Saturday 20th May 2018, our very own fitness guru Andrew Yates married his sweetheart Miss Laura Travers at the picturesque setting of St. Wilfred’s Mobberley Church in Cheshire, followed by a lavish reception at Owen House Wedding Barn.

The wedding party included Laura’s Mother, Julie Travers and her brother, Joshua Travers, as well as Andy’s parents Nigel and Karen Yates. Best Man duties fell to Stephen Ward, who did a splendid job. The usher roles were undertaken by Michael Caffrey, Chris Howell, as well as brothers Shaun and Alex Yates, whilst the bride’s chief bridesmaid was Rebecca Brocklehurst, who was lovely throughout the day, as were the other bridesmaids, Abbie Hargreaves and Amy Clarke.

The Bride wore a stunning gown by Frock and Soul of Uppermill. It was a couture beaded gown by New York based designer Theia Couture. It was designed by their creative director, Irish designer Don O’Neill. The gown is hand embroided with hundreds of glass beadsand sequins forming various patterns, including a bed of roses along the train.

The bridesmaids wore lovely floor length pale mauve dresses by Asos which included lace at the top. In addition, the gentlemen wore stylish navy blue three piece suits complete with mauve cravats to compliment the bridesmaids, all from Moss Brothers. They were certainly a handsome bunch to say the least as they made their way up to the venue.

The couple’s wonderful wedding cake was created by Sweet Chorlton and was a certain show stopper! It consisted of salted caramel and was decorated in flowers, roses, hydrangeas and eucalyptus with pale pink icing and a cake topper saying “It was always you!”

During the service, the couple exchanged beautiful rings from Gerald’s of Knutsford. The whole day was captured perfectly by Adventure Begins Photography and the flowers were expertly created by Jules Florist in Altricham. These included a pale pink flowers with eucalyptus, peonies, roses Lisianthus and hydrangeas. Flowers were one of the main features of the Wedding, hence why Laura picked a May date as the peonies are in full season at this time.

The Wedding Car was kindly supplied by a local lady (Anita) who drove the couple in Laura’s favourite Nissan Figaro, so many thanks once again Anita.

Other special mentions must go to Natty Bee’s Vintage Hire, who brought a caravan photo booth full of props, which was great fun. In addition a big thank you to Barratt’s Catering for putting on a wonderful feast, without forgetting Suzy at Paper Fudge for all the hand drawn stationary and of course the wedding band…. The Rush Manchester!

Following their big day, the couple honeymooned in the USA travelling from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

The whole team at the Around Saddleworth & Tameside Magazine would like to take this opportunity in wishing Laura and Andy a long and happy life together.
