MOSSLEY TO HOST CHARITY MATCH FOR MAYOR’S
HOMELESSNESS FUND
A team of ex-professional footballers and formerly homeless people supported by Emmaus Mossley are gearing up for a charity football match against Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Tameside.
homeless people by providing them with a home, support and work in a community setting. Each Emmaus runs different social enterprises, providing work and development opportunities whilst generating income to sustain the work of the charity.
PC Steve Naylor from Greater Manchester Police, said:“Following the success of last year’s charity match, myself and Harry felt we had to do it again, but this time even bigger and better.We have increased the number of activities on offer and increased the youth tournament to eight teams, in the hope that we can raise even more funds for such a worthwhile cause.
“Homelessness is still a recurring issue for many people throughout Manchester, including here in Tameside.

I have visited a Bed For A Night shelter myself and can see the great work they are doing to help people who fifind themselves out on the streets. For this reason, my colleagues and I at GMP Tameside are happy to give our own time to support the event.”
The Emmaus Charity Football Match will take place on Sunday 8 September from 2pm at Mossley A.F.C, Seel Park, 11 Market St, Mossley OL5 0ES. Entertainment for all ages will be on offer throughout the day as well as food, drinks and a charity rafflfle. Admission will be £5 and free for under-16s.

  The Emmaus Vs GMP Tameside Charity Football Match will take place on Sunday 8 September at Seel Park in Mossley.Taking part in the game will be former professional players Daniel Nardiello and Guy Branston, and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.
The charity match is being organised by GMPs Tameside Division with support from Emmaus Mossley, Mossley A.F.C and Oldham Athletic Community Trust.The family-friendly event will also include local club mascots, inflflatable activities, charity rafflfle and face painting.All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Great Manchester Mayor’s Homelessness Fund.
Harry Barlow, Community Leader at Emmaus Mossley, said: “We’re all looking forward to the rematch and bringing the community together for an enjoyable day for a good cause. Helping people less fortunate than ourselves is a big part of the Emmaus ethos and a real motivation for the players taking part.

CELTIC UPDATE
Stalybridge Celtic Foundation are pleased to announce the sponsorship of a new playing kit for one of our adult PAN-disability teams, Stalybridge Celtic Blues. Ahead of the new Cheshire East Ability Counts League season, the Blues, who won the League One Division of the league last season, will be competing in a new strip, courtesy of the Dukinfifield and Stalybridge Rotary Club.

The Blues came fififth out of the seven, so well done to Chris, Lee, Wayne,Adam, Stephen, Sean, Michael, Daniel and Danny, a great effort, with Stalybridge Celtic AFG fifinishing fifirst and facing Ellesmere Port in the semi-fifinal, where they won on penalties to book a place in the Final against Stockport County, who had won the plate for the previous three years.
Weekly Training Sessions start again for the 2019/20 season from Thursday 5th September 2019 at Ashton 6th Form College.
Stalybridge Celtic Foundation are once again pleased to offer the support of Stalybridge Celtic FC for fifive local charities throughout the course of the 2019/20 season at Bower Fold.
The Foundation will be handing over fifive of their Home fifixtures this season to enable each charity to come along and raise awareness of the work they do in our community and at the same time, raise valuable funds.
Last season they helped to raise a fantastic £1,546.21 in total across the fifive charities.
This season’s designated fifixtures are as follows -

The three Stalybridge Celtic Foundation adult PAN-disability teams have now fifinished for the 2018/19 season, with two of the teams fifinishing on a high note.
After competing in the Cheshire East Ability Counts League for seven months, they took two teams to the Cheshire FA HQ in Northwich (20th July) to play in the Ability Counts Cup, which brings together teams from the East and West Leagues.
Stalybridge Celtic Blues and Stalybridge Celtic AFG (Alternative Futures Group) were both placed in the ‘Plate’ competition, with teams representing Stockport County FC, Chester FC,Tranmere Rovers FC, Ellesmere Port and Chris Hill Community Sports (Buxton), so six
