A Passion for Home Interiors
Hi! I’m Laura, I am new to the “Around Saddleworth” family, I am super excited to be joining such a lovely magazine, which I read myself at home.
I’ll be writing a quarterly article based on home interiors. I hope to cover lots of interesting topics with you from simple changes you can make to your home to renovation projects or current home interior trends.
I have always had a passion for home interiors, a project on the go or hunting down a vintage find!
A few years ago, I decided that my corporate job wasn’t giving me the creative element I craved so I signed up to night college to train as a florist. I enjoyed it so much that the idea for my business blossomed “cottage by me” which sells faux florals and gifts.
I love nothing more than a pretty space to enjoy in your home. This can be a corner, a shelf or even your front door that welcomes you home.
We are all spending more time at home nowadays so it’s even more important that we enjoy the space we live in. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune and can be easily achieved by upcycling or shopping around for the latest bargain.
We have lived in our grade 2 listed cottage in Saddleworth for 4 years.
It is a work in progress with work still to be done but I have really enjoyed seeing the house changing as we tick off another project.
Our biggest project was our new kitchen which we undertook while I was 36 weeks pregnant.
As stressful as it was at the time we now couldn’t love our kitchen anymore and was worth all the worry if it would be done in time for our new arrival.
I am really looking forward to sharing with you our home journey and the projects I am working on as well as lots more, all home interiors!
