Award-Winning Local Optician, Allegro Optical reflects on Lockdown eye-care as restrictions ease.
Local independent award-winning Optician, Allegro Optical, re-opened their doors for routine eye-care in mid-June. In the last few months, they have been providing a daily emergency service to assist key workers, vulnerable residents and anyone else that needed urgent support.
Local Emergency Service
From late March 2020, despite the COVID-19 lockdown, Allegro Optical provided an emergency telephone line which clients could call to receive free specialist advice and if needed access urgent emergency eye-care.
The practices received a great many telephone calls from concerned residents who were worried about their vision. All callers received immediate advice and when necessary were referred to an emergency eye care centre or hospital.
Home Delivery Hero’s
In addition to the telephone triage service, Allegro Optical also provided a home delivery service delivering many pairs of glasses to clients over the last few months.
They also hand-delivered contact lenses, solutions and pharmaceuticals to ensure all their clients and some new ones, whose previous opticians were closed, had all the eye-care products they needed during the lockdown.
Anyone reporting a broken frame was also supported with a collection, repair and return delivery service, provided by each practice.
“The need for eye care doesn’t stop. In fact, it’s incredibly important that good eye health is maintained and that any changes are picked up as early as possible, to ensure the best possible outcomes,” said Sheryl Doe, Managing Director and Dispensing Optician. “We knew we had to continue to provide urgent care during the lockdown and ensure our patients had access to eyewear too. We are delighted to be welcoming clients back for routine eye care, albeit with a few changes to our usual service to ensure everyone’s safety.”
Back In Business
Allegro Optical is once again open for routine eye care and they have some fabulous new offers available, and all their glasses are available with their two-year breakage cover and 25% off* Ts & Cs Apply.
They can also offer their state of the art 3D OCT eye scan. This means their optometrists can examine clients eyes in detail while maintaining social distancing.
With pre-appointment health screening, a one-person only policy, a one-way system in-store and the whole team wearing PPE you couldn’t be in safer hands.
