Team effort pays off with ‘Trusted Trader’ status

Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, High Efficiency Heating is a family run business that has been established since 2004. This close-knit team is passionate about the quality of the service they provide, and a winning combination of skills and expertise has seen their reputation grow steadily over the last few years.

The business has formed a local partnership with heating product heavyweights, Worcester Bosch, taking pride in the fact that across the range, Worcester has won the prestigious WHICH? Best Buy Award for 7 consecutive years.

Managing Director Andy Baxter has worked in the gas industry since 1979. According to Andy, he and his Technical Sales Manager, Richard Perrins, have more years of technical experience between them than they care to remember. “We’re not a one-man band, we’re a company,” Andy told us. “When you’re in business 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s all about team effort, and they are the backbone of the operation.”

But Andy has also revealed that High Efficiency Heating now has something else to shout about, of which they are justifiably proud. Last year the business was awarded a much sought after Certificate of Distinction as a WHICH? Trusted Trader. Despite the challenges of COVID 19 and lockdown – when all operatives were kitted out with the necessary PPE – High Efficiency Heating has received the same accolade again in 2020.

To achieve Trusted Trader status, businesses are vetted by WHICH? based on customer reviews, and regularly assessed to ensure they continue to give customer satisfaction. To be awarded this endorsement twice is quite unique within the heating industry, says Andy, and he attributes the company’s success to hard work, dedication and that all-important team effort.

“Becoming a WHICH? Trusted Trader was brilliant,” Andy told us. “We’d been working hard to move along that path, so getting there was very satisfying. But it was a surprise to get it a second time, as we weren’t looking for it. I think we adapted very fast to the new normal and just carried on working as hard as ever, because we knew that even in lockdown people still needed heating and hot water.”

Andy and his wife Sharron, (who is also the office manager), recently moved to Greenfield, from where they’ve been discovering some new and enjoyable walks around Saddleworth. The couple have four children, (daughter Leanne also works in the office), and one of their grandchildren is about to start training as an apprentice with the company. We reckon it doesn’t get much more ‘family business’ than that.
