Allegro Optical’s Spec-tacular Grand Opening in Greenfield
The hills were alive with the sound of music, as Diggle B Band welcomed people to Allegro Optical’s grand opening of their new practice in the heart of Greenfield. Situated in the new Greenfield Centre on Wellington Road, the new opticians drew quite a crowd. There was something for everyone as the Brass Band played, there was bubbly in abundance, as well as games and a raffle in aid of the Macular Society. Sustenance was provided by Manns Wharf Catering with a fabulous selection of delicious canapés and finger foods that was just too tempting to resist.
Saddleworth celebrities Philip and Helen Beckwith, of Champion Brass, were on hand to cut the ribbon and declare Allegro Optical (Saddleworth) Ltd, open. Champion Brass is a supporter of Allegro Optical and both businesses have a long association with local musicians and the Brass World. Phil is well known for promoting the sounds of Brass both locally and nationwide, particularly for his events at the Uppermill Civic Hall. Allegro Optical are well known in Saddleworth as “The Musicians Optician”, in addition to having an excellent reputation for providing professional, ethical and affordable eye care, the group also specialise in musicians and performers eyecare. With over 100 testimonials from the last two years, the group’s website also carries countless blogs of the many musicians whose vision they have helped restore. These include the internationally renowned Helen Williams (Nee Fox), who prior to moving to Cory Band was a proud resident of Delph, along with Oldham’s very own Angelo Bearpark who now lives and works in Switzerland and plays for Fanfare Cécilia de Chermignon. Musicians travel from all over the country and even from abroad to take advantage of the completely unique optical solution Allegro Optical provides. When asked about their new practice, Stephen said;
“I first came to live in Uppermill in 1997 when I was appointed as Music Director of the Dobcross Silver Band. We had great success together and I simply fell in love with the Saddleworth area. I have always thought that an ideal location for an optical practice would be in an accessible location in Saddleworth. We all know how difficult it is to park in Saddleworth when trying to access shops and services, but I felt this location was ideally placed, with car parking available which can overflow into the Tesco Car Park. After our success in bringing excellent customer service and value to the Meltham Community, we hope to do the same in Saddleworth.”
