PEARSON SOLICITORS AND FINANCIAL ADVISERS welcomed The Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Javid Iqbal, to their Hollinwood Business Centre office where Keith Kennedy, Partner and Commercial Solicitor presented a cheque for £205 towards the Mayor’s Appeal.

For every commercial business that is bought or sold within the OL postcode the Pearson commercial conveyancing team are donating £5 to help Oldham Mayor Cllr Javid Iqbal realise his charity target.

Keith said, “We deal with a wide range of commercial property transactions every year; shops, offices, industrial premises, our clients are always on the move. We are busier than ever but we can sometimes be time poor so thought by making a financial donation for every commercial premises we deal with in the OL postcodes we could help the Mayor’s charity.”

The Mayor described The Mayor’s 1000 Challenge to Keith and explained how he is trying to inspire 1000 people or organisations to donate or fundraise £100 to help achieve £100,000 – a six figure sum that no other Mayor has ever raised.

“I was honoured to receive a donation from Pearson Solicitors.   It is truly inspiring to see professional organisations stepping up to the Mayor’s 1000 Challenge.  Pearson show true commitment and support to local charities, stepping above and beyond the normal realms of participation ‘truly inspiring to aspire.”  

He went on to say that he’s embarked on a number of community challenges including running in Uppermill’s 5K Santa’s Dash, a one mile swimathon and My Community Photography Competition.
