The Perfect Valentines Day

The Perfect Valentines Day is every couple’s dream but for some planning, the Perfect Valentines Day can be a nightmare!

Remember, for the Perfect Valentines Day “Just a bit of effort goes a long long way.”

Valentines comes around but once a year.

Valentines Day is the perfect chance to tell that special person in your life how thankful you are for them being around. To show them how much they mean to you and to make time add a little sparkle and shine to your relationship.

You don’t have to “Flash the Cash”

Now let’s be honest, if money was no object, then you could whisk that special someone away for Linguine in Lazio, Paella in Palencia or Foie Gras in France.

However, flashing the cash and big gestures doesn’t always guarantee you success in the love stakes! Sometimes its best to take it back to basics and show your loved one how much you care without breaking the bank. After all, it’s you they fell in love with you…not your bank account.

Therefore, here are just a few suggestions for all you hopeless romantics out there by yours truly…

Write a letter…

Ok, so the art of writing a letter may be like a distant memory when we’re so used to sending a quick text, typing a few lines in an email or posting a quick hello on Facebook.

However, think about it, when was the last time you sat down and took the time to put pen to paper?

The only thing you’ll need for this is a pen, paper and your honesty to express how you feel.

Writing a letter will show that you have taken the time to put into words not only how you feel, but will ensure you get a ten out ten for romance by making such a personal and intimate gesture.

Get painting together…

Now I’m not suggesting that you get to work on a masterpiece but a bonus of painting together is you don’t even have to be any good at drawing or painting. Simply buy two canvasses and set them up back-to-back.

The aim of this is to paint a picture for each other as your gift. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Vincent Van Gogh masterpiece or hysterically bad; either way, you’ll have a night you won’t forget.

It also gives you the chance to spend some time doing something different together.

Remember the scene in Ghost?

You could even do some pottery together…I’m sure most you will remember that scene on Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.

Make a collage or produce a photo album…

Remember all those selfies just using up memory on your phone?

Well put them to good use and make a collage of all the happy times you have spent together.

This can be a relatively cheap and a beautiful reminder of all the fun, laughter and love you have shared.

Either dig out the glue and scissors or make an album of your memories online. Whichever you opt for, you’ll be onto a winner!

Get the kids involved…

If you’ve been together for a while, then why not ask the kids to design a card for you? This is will show your personal, thoughtful and caring side and is surely a winner in everyone’s book!

Ignite the passion with a picnic…

It’s far too cold to be sitting on some hilltop in February. But that doesn’t mean you can’t share your favourite nibbles with the one you love. Set the mood by throwing a blanket on the floor of somewhere preferably warm and dry. Light some candles and put on your favourite album. Pack all your favourite treats, and bottle of bubbles in a basket and enjoy!

Get Back to Basics…

I hope this has given you some idea on how to show the special person in your life how much you care. In the modern hectic world where we live, it is easy to overlook the important people in our lives, so this Valentines Day lets all get back to basics.

All you need is a little imagination and a lot of love.

Have fun now! x
